Southside Baptist enjoys a rich heritage dating back to 1954, when Rev. Hugh Lindsey, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Griffin, recognized the need for a church on the southside. A series of church meetings was held in a tent where the airport walking track is now located. Then the mission met in a vacant store before moving to the present location.

Even though Southside enjoys a rich heritage and history, and to some extent maintain our traditional roots, we are not afraid to move forward in the Lord!
