Brandon Martin
Senior Pastor
Brandon was voted as our new Senior Pastor on Sunday, March 19, 2023. He will be permanently at our church beginning on Sunday, April 2, 2023. We are excited about our future with him as our pastor. You can check out photos of the exciting day when he came to be a part of our Church Family on the Photo Gallery page under “Meet and Greet our New Pastor”.
Brandon and his wife, Monica, just celebrated their twentieth wedding anniversary in October. They have been blessed with three children. Their eldest is Noah and he is fourteen. He loves music and played the piano in the youth band at their previous church as well as the drums for the praise team. He loves playing soccer and plays on the Trinity Christian team here in Griffin. Madilynn is twelve and enjoys reading. She participates in debate and enjoys using those skills in apologetics. She too loves music and plays the guitar and sings. She is currently participating in track at Trinity Christian. Avery is their youngest child at nine years old. She was born on Easter Sunday in 2013 which is a wonderful memory for their family. She loves horses and is the green thumb of the family. She plays softball and is learning the piano and drums.
Brandon and his wife, Monica, both graduated from Griffin High in 1999. Monica has a degree in Education from Mercer University and taught at Beaverbrook Elementary here in Griffin for six years. She has been home with their children since the birth of Avery where she homeschools them in the classical method. She has been the director of the Classical Conversations Homeschool Coop in Griffin for the past five years. Monica also loves music and played the keyboard in the praise band. She has taken on many roles in the church throughout the years from helping me with a young adults ministry to children’s church director and middle school teacher.
Brandon graduated from Luther Rice University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Religion. He had been serving on staff at Union Baptist Church in Griffin as their Worship and Outreach Pastor for the past fifteen years. He loves to teach and facilitate discussions about God’s word and His plan for us as His children.
He accepted Jesus as his Savior when he was eight years old. He was raised going to church and was led to the Lord by his parents one night in his home. Shortly after Brandon and Monica were married, he was called to serve as a deacon and did so for three to four years before he accepted God’s call into the ministry and was ordained by Union Baptist Church.
Brandon shared his feeling about his ministry in the following: “if I had to sum up my ministry focus in a short paragraph it would be “The Family.” The family unit is breaking down and there is almost no difference in the statistics of those families who attend church and those who don’t. To make changes to our churches and community we must begin at home. This in part includes men discipling each other maturing into the husbands and fathers God has called us to be as well as women discipling one another to fulfill their Godly role. There is so much more involved and its not a simple easy task but mine and Monica’s heart is the family.”
